CENA'S BIGGEST DEFEAT IN WRESTLING CAREER

Maybe because Cena was still banged up from his triceps surgery and thus unable to take any major risks or bumps, Orton stepped up to carry much of the action, doing so admirably.

Orton winning with a clean beautiful victory slamming Cena down from the ladder into the mat where Cena stays groggy selling KO.

WWE RANDY ORTON WAS READY FOR THE BIGGEST MATCH IN HISTORY OF WWE.
BOTH THE WWE AND WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLES WERE HUNG ABOVE THE RING.
THE FIGHT
Although the career rivals started the bout with an exchange of straight holds, things quickly deteriorated as Orton introduced a ladder into the ring within minutes of the opening bell. The first major offensive maneuver also belonged to The Viper, who buckled The Champ with a chair blast that reverberated throughout the Toyota Center with a cringe-inducing bang.

The bell rings, and we're ready to begin. We get a lock up, and Cena backs Orton into the corner. Both men turn things around, and Cena takes Orton over with a headlock.Cena takes Orton down with a shoulder tackle, and he goes right for the tables on the outside. Orton stops him cold, and brings a ladder into the ring. Orton sets up the ladder, but Cena stops him, grabbing the ladder and slamming it into Ortons head.

Cena heads back to the outside and brings a table into the ring. Cena props the table in the corner, and shoulders Orton. Orton fights out of it, and tries to sends Cena into the table, but Cena blocks it and sends Orton to the outside. Orton comes back in with a chair in hand, and he tries to use it against Cena, but Cena blocks. Orton kicks Cena in the gut and cracks Cena across the back with the chair, before bringing it down across Cena's chest.

STRENGTH CHALLENGE BETWEEN THE TWO MEN.
THE FIRST SUPERSTAR TO GRAB BOTH TITLES WOULD BECOME THE FIRST-EVER WWE HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION.
A ORTON'S KICK IN THE GUT ENDS THE BATTLE.
If The Authority had questioned Orton's passion in order to inspire him, it clearly worked. The Viper seemed to be The Legend Killer of old, keeping Cena grounded with deliberate chair shots and picking at his bones with slow, methodical stomps and kicks. Whenever The Champ managed to fight his way back into the contest, Orton would cut him off at the knees, even stopping a Five Knuckle Shuffle attempt with a brilliantly placed kick to Cena's head.

Cena bails to the outside, and Orton follows, chair in hand. Orton winds up, but Cena ducks and Orton connects mostly with the ring steps. Orton doesn't stop though, winding up and hitting Cena across the back again. Orton mocks Cena before winding up, and missing Cena, hitting the ring post instead. Cena picks up the chair and uses it to his Orton a couple of times across the back.

Cena grabs another table and sets it up on the outside. Cena drags Orton over and tries for a power bomb, but Orton counters out and sends Cena crashing into the ring steps. Orton grabs another ladder and sends it into the ring. Orton sets up the ladder under the belts, and begins climbing. Orton gets his hands on the belt, but Cena pulls him down. Cena hits the ropes and runs into a dropkick from Orton.
GOING TO THE TOP OF THE LADDER
WAS GOING TO BE
A HARROWING JOURNEY FOR THE MAN WHO COULD DO IT.
ORTON RETAKES THE LEAD WITH A SUPER DROP KICK

Orton tosses the ladder from the ring, then kicks Cena in the ribs, hits some headbuts before stomping at his joints and grinding his boot into Cena's face. Cena pulls himself up, using Orton, and he and Orton trade blows. Cena hits the ropes and runs into a powerslam from Orton.

IN THE REBOUND CENA IS CAUGHT IN THE QUICK ORTON'S BODYSLAM.

Orton stomps on Cena's chest, then heads to the outside for another chair, and another ladder.  Cena picks up the ladder and drives it into Orton's chest. Cena sets up the ladder under the belts and begins the climb.  Orton pulls him down, and hoisting up Cena's body in his arms from behind hits a big back suplex. Orton picks up the ladder, but he misses Cena with it, tossing it to the outside.

FROM BEHIND,ORTON HOISTS UP CENA IN HIS ARMS AND SMASHES HIM DOWN BRUTALLY ON THE MAT.
ORTON WAS PARTICULARY VICIOUS IN THIS BOUT, TAKING PLEASURE IN BATTERING CENA WITH RAW STEEL.

Orton grabs a chair and uses it to wail on Cena. Orton wedges the chair in the corner between the top and middle rope. Cena ducks a clothesline and hits two shoulder tackles, and a belly to back suplex. Cena calls for the five knuckle shuffle, but Orton catches him with a kick to the face, then he tosses Cena face first into the chair in the corner.

CENA GETS THE "YOU CAN'T SEE ME" BUT ORTON KICKS CENA IN THE FACE...
...AND TOSSES CENA FACE FIRST INTO THE CHAIR IN THE CORNER.

Orton goes back out for another ladder, bringing it into the ring and setting it up under the titles. Orton climbs the ladder, but he's stopped by Cena. Of course, trying to keep John Cena down is like pushing a boulder uphill. Proving himself to be every bit as willing to get his hands dirty as his opponent, the Cenation leader puts The Viper on his back, scales the ladder and hitting the five knuckle shuffle from the
third rung of the ladder, drops a fist into his rival's face instead of reaching for the titles. Using some sharp strategy, Cena doesn't chase the championships. Instead, he bids his time until Orton get back on his feet, then drive a ladder into him, sending him off the apron and through a table.

OF COURSE, THE CENATION LEADER IS NOT THE TYPE OF SUPERSTAR WHO GETS PUSHED AROUND.

Cena sets the ladder up under the titles and he begins to climb. As Cena begins his ascent to immortality, The Viper impossibly makes his way back into the ring, knocks The Champ from his perch and connects with a picture-perfect RKO. The glorious carnage leaves both men incapacitated in the center of the ring as an ecstatic Houston crowd rumble around them..

IN THE REBOUND FROM THE ROPES ORTON CATCHES CENA WITH A RKO FROM NOWHERE .
When the Superstars stagger to their feet,
the match truly begins to resemble something closer to a bar fight . Orton tries to keep the advantage hitting Cena with a series of devastating head butts, then a big right. But Cena fights back with a series of rights before clotheslining Orton over the top rope. Cena finally dropped Orton by driving the steel ring steps into him. Cena hits Orton with the steps again, then he goes for another table. Cena then brings another table into the ring and props it in the corner across from the one alredy set up.
WITH SERIES OF HEADBUTTS ORTON KNOCKS CENA SENSELESS...
... BUT CENA REACTS SENDING ORTON ON THE AREA FLOOR WITH A POWERFUL CLOTHESLINE.

...But The Viper takes command yet again by blasting the Cenation leader with a microphone, then stomping his head into the steel ring steps. Orton uses the mic to hit Cena repeatedly and begins dismantling the Spanish announcer's table.

Taking his time, Orton waits for Cena to begin to struggle to his feet before he attempts to punt The Champ. Somehow, though, Cena avoids The Viper's boot, spin him around and drives him through the Spanish announce table with a resounding Attitude Adjustment.

THE PUNT!
VICTORY SEEMS TO BE IN CENA'S GRASP AFTER HE PUT ORTON THROUGH THE SPANISH ANNOUNCE TABLE.

Now moving in slow motion after the physical trauma he had been subjected to, the World Heavyweight Champion sets up the ladder under the titles and makes his way up the ladder. Cena slowly gets his hands on the title. Too slowly? Cena seems to wait for Orton to recover. Has WWE decided to give the title to Orton? Yet, Orton rising again like the monster in a horror movie, rips the ladder out from under him. The Cenation leader makes the mistake of holding onto the hanging apparatus, which only allows for The Viper to bash him with a steel chair like he was teeing off on a pienata. Orton winds up for another shot, and Cena spears him through one of the tables set up in the corner.

THE CHAMP NEARLY GRABBED THE TITLES, ONLY FOR THE VIPER TO TAKE THE LADDER OUT FROM UNDER HIM.
WWE'S APEX PREDATOR TOOK CRUEL PLEASURE IN PUNISHING HIS OPPONENT.
CENA DIVING ORTON THROUGH A TABLE IN A DESPERATE TACKLE.

The most pivotal moment in this historic match comes moments after Cena drove Orton through a table with a desperate tackle. Clearly, the act took something out
of both men, possibly more out of Cena,
but it sent Orton to the outside, where he retrieved a pair of handcuffs he had hidden under a ringside mat. Orton tries to handcuff Cena, they struggle, Orton takes the advantage and handcuffs Cena to the bottom rope.

BEGINS A STRENGHT CHALLENGE BETWEEN THE TWO MEN AND ORTON TAKING THE UPPER HAND, HANDCUFFS CENA TO THE ROPES.
After The Viper shackled The Champ to the bottom rope he taunts his opponent tossing the keys into the crowd. Cena pulls at the handcuffs, but can't break them. Orton goes up the entranceway and grabs a huge ladder. Orton hits Cena with the ladder, but Cena shrugs it off. Cena tries using a ladder, and a chair to do anything to break the cuffs.
Orton slowly moves up the ladder, but he fails to notice what Cena is doing down below.
AFTER CUFFING CENA TO THE ROPES, ORTON TAUNTED HIM WITH THE KEYS.
Ingeniously unscrewing the bottom turnbuckle, The Champ is able to move about the ring, although he is still connected to the rope, he climbs the ladder, bringing the turnbuckle with him. Cena knocks Orton down from the ladder. Cena grabs the belts and begin to undo them...
WISELY, CENA UNTIED THE BOTTOM TURNBUCKLE IN ORDER TO FREE HIMSELF.
THE TWO SUPERSTARS
WERE AS AGGRESSIVE AS EVER WHEN THEY MET ON THE TOP OF THE LADDER.

... But the Viper fights back, though, grabbing the rope that was still hooked to Cena's arm and yanking it with all his might. The Cenation leader struggles, but he is unable to overpower Orton with one arm. Ultimately, Cena is yanked from the top and driven face first into the edge of a wooden table he has himself put in the corner of the ring.

The ugly impact knocks the World Heavyweight Champion into next week. With his greatest opponent out cold underneath him, Orton begins his climb once again. When he reaches the top, he savors the moment, taking what felt like minutes to look down at the man he has beaten and to unlatch the two most important championships in sports-entertainment history.

Winner and NEW WWE World Heavyweight Champion: Randy Orton

AFTER KNOCKING THE CHAMP FROM THE PERCH, THE VIPER WAS ABLE TO GRAB BOTH TITLES.
A DESPERATE CENA HUMILIATED BY WHAT IT MAY BE THE BIGGEST DEFEAT OF ALL HIS WRESTLING CAREER!
Standing there for all the WWE Universe to see, The Viper became the first WWE World Heavyweight Champion in history and the spiritual successor of ring legend who ever carried these vaunted titles.
Soon, The Authority joines Orton in the ring and congratulates their handpicked hero as the enormity of the situation dawned on a recovering Cena. With that, an important chapter in WWE history had been written, and a new one had begun.
THE AUTHORITY EMERGES TO CONGRATULATE THE FIRST-EVER WWE WORLDHEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION THEY HAVE OF COURSE DECIDED BEFORE THE MATCH ITSELF.
A NEW ERA OF SPORTS-ENTERTAINMENT BEGAN AT WWE TLC "GOOD FOR BUSINESS", BUT THE WWE UNIVERSE SHOWS HIS DISAFECTION.
" It was the beginning of a new world for WWE and -as is often the case with change- it did not come without a price. If the road map of cuts and bruises on the bodies of both Cena and Orton
don't tell the story, the image of the Cenation leader lying unconscious against a table with one arm handcuffed to the ring rope and the other twisted underneath his massive body surely will."
