KEVIN OWENS CHALLENGE VICTORIOUSLY JOHN CENA

A CHAMP IN DESARRAY!

NXT CHAMPION KEVINS OWENS DEF. U.S.CHAMPION JOHN CENA

15TIMES WWE HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION JOHN CENA
NO MATCH
FOR A STRONG NXT CHAMPION KEVIN OWENS

The heavily hyped WWE Elimination Chamber 2015 battle between United States Champion John Cena and NXT Champion Kevin Owens was every bit as physical as expected, but no one saw it ending like this.

NXT Champion Kevin Owens walked confidently into the biggest match of his life against Cena and, to the shock of the WWE Universe, walked out with a career-making victory after demolishing The Champ, picking up the victory with his devastating Pop-up Powerbomb.

KEVIN OWENS CONFIDENTLY STRIDES TO THE RING FOR THE BIGGEST MATCH OF HIS LIFE.
THE FIGHT
Owens should have been under the most pressure he's ever been, but showed no nervousness as he waited for Cena to enter the ring. The NXT Champion was ready, daring the leader of the Cenation to step between the ropes. He was unshaken as the crowd exploded in cheers, some for Cena and some for him. Owens smirked as John Cena held his United States Championship high, knowing what he was capable of doing to Cena.
Cena quickly gave Owens a taste of life on WWE's main roster, clobbering the NXT Champion with a big shoulder block. The vile NXT upstart returned the favor with a boot to the gut before pummeling The Champ in the corner. He followed up by showing the ruthless, aggressive offense that made him an immediate success in NXT, clawing at CenaŐs face and whipping him mercilessly into the turnbuckles.
Owens kept the match going at his slow, methodical pace, wearing Cena down while continually running his mouth. Cena tried to dig deep and power out of OwensŐ smothering offense, but the NXT Champion was prepared to cut him off at every junction. The United States Champion tried to use the element of surprise to end the bout, rolling Owens up for a quick pin, but that only infuriated his rival. Owens retaliated by pouncing on Cena and raining punches on him.
Cena grabbed at Owens's ring gear, pulling himself to his feet as the NXT Champion reminded him who he was in the ring with, urging him to stay down. However, Cena was resilient, though he was met with devastating blows at every turn.

The momentum seemed to turn for the Cenation leader as he hit the Five Knuckle Shuffle and avoided the Pop-up Powerbomb. When Owens finally connected with his devastating move, Cena somehow found the wherewithal to kick out.

THE BIG BEATING.
Owens popped to his feet and Cena waved toward Owens that this is the big-time.
A dueling chant of "Let's Go Cena / Cena Sucks" broke out, then Owens landed a boot to the gut. Owens went on the attack, stomping Cena out of the ring to the ring apron. Owens tried to rip out Cena's jaw, then posed toward the crowd as Lawler described Owens as an old-school fight.

That disrespect awoke something in Cena, as he brought the fight to Owens, diving out of the corner with a tornado DDT, following up with a leg drop off the top rope for a two-count. When Owens fought back, Cena found a way to counter his confident rival. THOUGH CENA TURNS OWENS INSIDE OUT...
Though Cena thought he may have had his rival on the ropes after that staggering blow, Kevin Owens showed he was just as irrepressible. The NXT Champion ducked Cena's next clothesline and caught Cena as he rebounded off the ropes. Owens tossed the U.S. Champion up in the air, caught him and planted him onto the canvas with another Pop-up Powerbomb to seal the victory few thought was possible.

Very good 20-minute PPV match. It was almost too good with the stream of finisher kick-outs taking the crowd out at times. But, they finished strong with a big-time finishing sequence. The other strong point was the crowd was really into Owens during his extended beat down on Cena. So many WWE heels lose the crowd during that period of the match, but Owens is so intriguing that the crowd hung with him during the most crucial part of the match building to the finish. Will that be the same months from now after the novelty wears off? We believe so, as Owens is that good as a heel. Overall, We expected more of a brawl that ended in a non-finish to protect both men, but WWE chose to put Kevin Owens over.

U.S.CHAMPION JOHN CENA CONFRONTS HIS WINNER KEVIN OWENS.

If the WWE Universe at large didn't know who Kevin Owens was before, they certainly do now after the NXT Champion did the near-unthinkable by demolishing and "pinning John Cenahin his first match in a WWE ring. Owens' enthusiasm over his star-making victory wasn't even hampered by the news of "an impending rematch"against The Champ. If anything, he found his second wind, vowing to defeat Cena, whom his son idolizes, to expose him as a false role model, because he always deliver what he said. Cena took exception to the NXT Champion's fighting words to the point of daring him to an on-the-spot throwdown. Despite being visibly riled by The Champ, Owens showing up his Cena's disrespect and disdain , declined this time around, choosing instead to meet Cena on his terms at Money in the Bank.
